On July 26, 1973, a future news anchor was born in Bolivar, Tennessee. WDRB's own Candyce Clifft celebrated her 40th birthday with a few surprises from her coworkers.
Some of the fun included a pinata filled with icy hot, super Poli-grip and more "old people" stuff. Plus weather guy Jude Redfield gave her a special trumpet serenaded.
A cake was delivered with an old lady on it. There were cupcakes and cookies for everyone. And some very, very special birthday wishes for Candyce.
Among those from around the country that made the effort to send videos were Candyce's parents, her husband Kip, and all three of her children, Kendall, Nate and Scarlett. The real surprises were from former coworkers Barry Bernson, Jeremy Brilliant and Kevan Ramer.
And some very dear, dear friends from college including her journalism professor, Kyle Greeley, roommate Mary Lynn (Sain) Woodruff, and friends Rebecca Ratcliffe and Michelle Keller.
Thanks to everyone who joined us in wishing our Candcye Clifft a very happy birthday with many healthy returns.
