LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man after they say he tried to rape a woman inside her apartment.
According to an arrest report, 52-year-old Delbert M. Harper used force to break into a woman's apartment in the 2000 block of Landing Drive near Buechel Bank Road.
Once inside, the report states that he grabbed the victim from behind and fondled her while exposing himself.
Police say he tried to rape the woman but she was able to shove him out of the apartment and call police. When officers arrived, they saw Harper "yelling profanities" at the victim outside her apartment. He ran behind the apartment when officers approached him, and fought with officers as they attempted to arrest him, according to police.
The arrest report states that Harper "has a history of sexually inappropriate and threatening behavior towards residents" in his neighborhood.
He is now facing charges of attempted rape, attempted burglary and resisting arrest.
