Ford recalls thousands of Hybrid model cars

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Ford is recalling more than 33,000 C-Max Hybrid's.

The recall comes after the company discovered the Hybrid model cars may not have safe roofs.

The cars that are being recalled include C-Max hybrids built between January 9th, 2012 and June 25th, 2013 that do not have a panoramic roof.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says testing revealed the car exceeds a head injury requirement.

Officials for Ford say so far no injuries have been reported related to the issue. The company also says they will notify owners of the recall next month.

Anyone with one of the Hybrid cars being recalled will be able to take the car to a dealership, and have a new energy absorbing material between the car's headliner and roof installed.
