LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The ethics trial against Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin will continue Monday and it's possible she could take the stand.

Shanklin is accused of misusing funds allocated to the ex-offender program she ran through the city.

Last week, the first group of witnesses took the stand in the trial.

On Thursday, Metro Corrections Director Mark Bolton said financial troubles within the department led him to take a closer look at the ex-offender program run by Shanklin.

Felicia Berger, the girlfriend of Shanklin's grandson, also took the stand.

The prosecution claims Shanklin used a neighborhood account to write a $600 check to Berger.

The trial is expected to resume tomorrow morning.
