LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- New developments are being planned near the Big Four Bridge.
New design plans show that a possible plaza could be built underneath the Big Four Bridge. The new plaza would include benches, picnic areas, and a shaded pavilion with lots of trees.
The proposed plaza space wasn't included in the master plan for the bridge. But now officials say the bridge is so popular, they want to give users something else to enjoy.
"It's going to be a well used area we're going to move the bike rental to one corner," explained Mike Kimmel with the Waterfront development corporation, "And there will be garden pieces and at the top of the great lawn."
The Waterfront Development Corporation is trying to raise more than $1 million dollars for the project, and hope to get the project moving as soon as possible.
