LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A prayer walk and worship service at Waterfront Park gathered Christians from across Kentuckiana today.

This was the first year for the God Belongs in My City event.

It's a non-denominational prayer walk and worship service inspired by a youth movement in New York City.

Those who attended the event walked through downtown and along the Great Lawn for prayer.

In supporting the event, Mayor Greg Fischer proclaimed August 3, 2013 as "God Belongs in My City" day.

The Archdiocese of Louisville and Southeast Christian Church both promoted the event.
