LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man Louisville Metro Police say forced a 23-year-old woman to have sex with over 100 men -- and attacked her if she refused.
According to an arrest warrant, 34-year-old Dennis E. Elliott forced a 23-year-old woman to engage in prostitution. Police say that from Jan. 1 to May 31, she was forced to have sex with over 100 men. In some cases, she was forced to have sex with 3-4 men at a time.
If she refused, police say Elliott would hold her against her will.
"He would use physical force by hitting, slapping, intimidating and strangling her," police say. Elliott allegedly, "strangled the victim on a couple of occasions to the point the victim lost consciousness."
He also burned the woman with cigarettes if she didn't do as he asked, police say.
Police say the woman was "very afraid" of Elliott and got help from friends to get away from him.
Police say the assaults allegedly happened at various locations throughout Jefferson County.
Elliott was taken into custody on Friday afternoon at his apartment on E. Kentucky Street. He is charged with engaging in human trafficking and promotion of prostitution.
