LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city of Jeffersonville is getting a new police headquarters.

City officials broke ground at the new location on Monday on East Highway 62.

Mayor Mike Moore says the city has grown considerably in the last few years, and that the project has been talked about for decades.

The new headquarters is being built for the future, and it's set to hold up for the city for the next 30 years.

It will be built to better accommodate officers and the community, and everything will be centered in the new headquarters.

The headquarters will be located right next to fire headquarters.
