National Night Out events Aug. 6

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and strengthen community ties with law enforcement.

A number of free public events are being tonight held across our area including:

Frankfort/Franklin County

Lakeview Park Pavilion

5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

LMPD Second Division

Second Division headquarters

3419 Bohne Avenue

6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Info on crime prevention, neighborhood watch programs and an opportunity to talk with the men and women of the Second Division. 574-2478.

LMPD Third Division

Home Depot

6849 Dixie Highway

6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Info on crime prevention, block watch programs and child IDs made on side. 574-2155.

LMPD Fourth Division

Wyandotte Park

1100 Beecher Street

5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Crime prevention, blood drive and health screenings featured.  For info: 502-574-7010.

LMPD Eighth Division

Middletown Target

6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Bouncy inflatables, face painting, drug drop, door prizes, giveaways, LMPD displays including T3's, ATV, and child ID machine, displays with Worthington and Middletown Fire Departments.

LMPD/South Jefferson County

7311 Jefferson Blvd. (Behind Jefferson Mall)

6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Dunk a Cop for Dare to Care, pries, giveaways, OVW Wrestlers, mascots, police helicopter, K-9 units, JCPS info table, snacks, bouncy house.
