POLICE: Louisville man hit pedestrian, but kept driving
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is accused of hitting a pedestrian with his car, then driving away without offering to help her.
According to an arrest report, the incident took place on Tuesday, just before 5 p.m., on Dixie Hwy., near 7th St. Rd.
Police say 81-year-old Frank Taylor was driving a 1997 tan Toyota Camry at that location when he struck a pedestrian who was using the crosswalk.
The woman was knocked into the air and landed on the concrete, causing several injuries to her body, according to the arrest report. Police say Taylor continued driving without stopping.
When police stopped him, he allegedly told officers he didn't realize he had struck anyone, and wouldn't provide police with a phone number.
He had been cited earlier this year for reckless driving, according to the report.
Taylor was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failing to render aid -- a felony.
The condition of the female pedestrian is not known.
