LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Investigators hope to learn if they'll be able to recover any information off two flight data recorders recovered from the wreckage of a UPS plane that crashed in Alabama.

The boxes have been scorched, but NTSB officials say they are cautiously optimistic they can recover some information that will help them determine what caused the crash in Birmingham.

The pilots from North Carolina and Tennessee died in the crash.

NTSB officials were also in Louisville Friday morning at Worldport going over maintenance records for the plane.
