Bus stop cleanup to help kids feel safe

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- JCPS teachers and volunteers are hoping a bus stop cleanup on Saturday will help students feel safe when they return to school this week.

Metro Councilwoman Attica Scott organized the event to clean up the Chickasaw, Park DuValle and Parkland neighborhoods.

A group of teachers and volunteers gathered at Maupin Elementary School Saturday morning to pick up cleaning supplies and spread out to area bus stops.

Teachers say the event was important to give back to the community and support their students.

JCPS students will return to school for the first day of class on Tuesday.
