LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Soil cleanup begins tomorrow at homes near a former Louisville pesticide factory.
Excavation work will begin on dozens of homes next to the old Black Leaf chemical site, starting at Wilson Avenue.
This will take place over the next few months.
The former factory left behind dangerous chemicals, including arsenic and lead.
Many of the back yards of homes next to the plant showed elevated levels of contamination.
Some neighbors even had a medical screening.
As many as 44 homes will have the soil cleaned up.
Dozens of others still have not given officials consent.
