LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Hodgenville man has been charged with murder after police say he was driving drunk and killed an elderly couple.

Kentucky State Police say 46-year-old Earl Richardson was heading southbound on Kentucky 61 in Hardin County Sunday night.  Police say he slammed into a car that was trying to cross the road.

71-year-old Luevenia Dennis and 75-year-old Johnie Dennis died at the scene.  Earl Richardson and his 10 year-old passenger were taken to the hospital and released.

Richardson is facing a number of charges, including two counts of murder, driving under the influence, and having an open container.
