LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former Kentucky lawmaker must pay nearly $24 million in damages in a wrongful death lawsuit.
A judge in Lexington has ruled that Steve Nunn is liable for $20 million in punitive damages, and $3.8 million in damages for funeral and medical expenses, and pain and suffering.
Nunn, the son of former Governor Louie Nunn, is serving a life sentence without parole after pleading guilty in 2011 to killing Amanda Ross.
Ross was Nunn's ex-fiancee; she was shot to death outside her home in 2009.
Another defendant in the civil suit settled for an undisclosed amount of money last week.
