Mountain Dew Jelly recipe from a WDRB in the Morning viewer

Posted: Updated:

Forget grape or strawberry jelly on your toast this morning.

How about Mountain Dew Jelly?

This is a picture from our WDRB News facebook friend Chrissy Critchfield.

WDRB in the Morning's talk about koolickles last week prompted her to share one of her unique recipes.

She says to make Mountain Dew Jelly you just boil it down, add sugar and a package of sure gel.

We don't know how it tastes.

But Chrissy says she's also making Orange Crush jelly next.

If you're feeling adventurous, here's the recipe:

Mountain Dew Jelly (you can substitute any soda)

3 1/4 cup soda (I boil an entire 2 liter down to 7 cups & make 2 batches)

4 1/2 cup sugar

1 pkg sure gel

2 TBSP lemon juice (if using Mt. Dew,Mello-Yello,Sierra Mist, 7up,Sprite or Sundrop soda)

Boil soda 3 min

Cool slightly

Follow sure gel jelly directions

Water Bath 10 minutes.
