LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville is taking a new route to attract businesses to its side of Veterans Parkway. A new road is going in at Jeffersonville Towne Center on Veterans Parkway.
The $1.9 million project will connect the south side of Veterans Parkway to Charlestown-New Albany Road.
The Clarksville side of Veterans Parkway is booming with business, and Jeffersonville wants the same on the other side of I-65.
Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore said Thursday, "This project was the city's pledge that we are serious about developing Veterans Parkway on the Jeffersonville side. I think real soon, you may see a meeting take place that will be a major announcement."
The mayor says the city has the money in the bank to pay for the project, which also includes a new stop light, storm sewers, sidewalks, and street lights.
