LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A staple in the Cherokee Triangle is getting some special treatment on its birthday.

An official commemorative poster of the Castleman Statue was unveiled today. It turns 100 years old in November.

In honor of the historic anniversary, the statue is getting cleaned, waxed and sealed -- after being battered by the elements.

Cherokee Triangle Association raised $40,000 to help with the restoration. Work begins in October.
