LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Whether it's the livestock, the music or the food you go for, you only have a few more chances to make it to this year's Kentucky state fair.
It's day 10 and this might be one of the busiest nights yet.
The fair board says this year has been successful for several reasons.
"We had a great crowd last night. The weather is fantastic. Everyone's having a great time. I just don't see any better way to celebrate a Saturday afternoon in August with the weather we've got rather than being at the state fair in Kentucky," said Rip Rippetoe, President & CEO of Kentucky State Fair Board.
Visit the Kentucky State Fair and you're bound to see just about anything.
Named the largest indoor fair in the U.S., you can browse around in the A/C and look at all the things Kentucky is most proud of.
President and CEO of the Kentucky State Fair board, Rip Rippetoe says this fair is agriculturally based to honor and celebrate the agriculture roots of Kentucky.
Rippetoe says it's all about the youth and Ag sciences.
We found a good representation of that while walking through the livestock barns.
The Schuerman family won in two different categories for champion gilt.
The Schuermans work all year round to show at the state fair.
They are a family of dedication and time, along with lessons learned and hard work.
Organizers say it's families like the Schuermans that make them proud to lead by example.
"We had four other states send people here this week to learn what we did so they could steal our ideas and take them back," said Rippetoe.
The fair continues through Sunday. Despite big crowds on Saturday, the shuttles ran efficiently.
