LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials with the Ohio River Bridges project say Kentucky and Indiana will take the initial steps in creating an electronic tolling system in the coming weeks.
The state-of-the-art tolling system will not include cash toll booths. Instead -- scanners will register a device placed inside cars and bill accordingly.
For those without the device, a photo will be taken of their license plate and they will be billed at a higher rate.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will meet in Frankfort on Friday to receive a study that will guide decisions about financing the project.
