LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A human case of the West Nile virus has been identified in Floyd County, Ind., according the Health Department there.
The department says that person was diagnosed and treated in another state, and is recovering. The person has not been identified. Neither has the state where the person was diagnosed. The last time someone died of West Nile in Floyd County was in 2009.
The Floyd County Health Dept. also says that three mosquito traps have returned positive for West Nile.
The department is spraying in several areas to reduce the number of mosquitoes, which can spread the disease.
