Airport officials say ‘suspicious package' being sent to FBI

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)—A spokeswoman with the Louisville International Airport says that around 10:00 Saturday morning an unattended package was discovered next to a car in the rental car return lot.

Trish Burke, with the Louisville International Airport, says at first authorities believed it was a meth lab.

Burke now tells WDRB the ‘suspicious package' is being sent to the FBI to determine what it actually is.

Hazmat crews were called to the airport to remove the device.

LMPD determined it was not explosive.

No flights were disrupted during this time.
