LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Four local companies in the early stages of developing their products are getting some help, as they were named winners of the Vogt Invention & Innovation Awards.
The awards help companies commercialize their products and ideas.
Wixel Technologies, ModBox, Liberate Medical, and Babylocity each received $20,000 in seed money.
The owner of Babylocity created a mix-and-go, all-in-one baby bottle. Right now LaShana Harris has a prototype and patent and she says this award will help her move forward: "It means a lot -- having the appropriate funding to move forward with a concept of idea is vital in order to realize the product."
The winners also get to participate in a lean start-up course by Nucleaus -- Kentucky's Life Sciences and Innovation Center.
