LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kroger says it will no longer double coupon values. Coupon doubling is set to end on Sept. 22 in most of its Kentucky, southern Indiana and southern Illinois stores.
"In an effort to modernize the company's coupon policies, Kroger has been investing additional resources into its digital coupons and promotions," Tim McGurk, public affairs manager for Kroger's Louisville Division said in a news release.
"This change will please the rapidly growing segment of our customers who prefer to shop and save without the trouble of clipping paper coupons."
Kroger customers have access to hundreds of digital coupons everyday which can be downloaded instantly, even as they shop. Kroger digital coupons are downloadable at Kroger.com and through the grocer's mobile app available on iPhone and Android devices.
Kroger officials say only a small percentage its customers use double coupons and customers are responding favorably to the recent increase in the quantity and value of the digital coupons available.
