LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Ramping up the south's economy -- that was the goal of the Southern Governor's Association meeting in Louisville.

The meeting wrapped up on Monday with a report being released on how to improve manufacturing and job creation in the region.

The group says it also received a $400,000 grant to help establish the Advanced Manufacturing in the American South Partnership.

Governor Steve Beshear says one place to start is to keep kids from dropping out of high school. Governor Beshear also went on to say the group will work over the next year to implement the findings of the report.

Next year's meeting is set to be held in Little Rock, Arkansas.
