LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Breckinridge County Sheriff's Department says one of its deputies has now resigned, but won't say why.
Breckinridge Deputy Chris Woosley had been on paid administrative leave, but has resigned after working for the department for four years. Sheriff Todd Pate says Woosley had been a loyal employee with no disciplinary actions. The department has eight deputies. The sheriff says he gave Woosley the option of resigning, instead of getting fired.
As WDRB News reported on Monday, a father says his 15-year-old daughter is the victim of a deputy from Breckinridge County, two Kentucky State Police troopers from Elizabethtown Post 4, and a Brandenburg Police Officer. He says they had inappropriate relationships with his 15-year-old daughter over a period of time.
The Brandenburg Police Officer is on paid administrative leave, but the mayor will not say why.
WDRB is choosing not to release the father or daughter's name.
Kentucky State Police officials say the investigation may take several weeks to complete. The Kentucky Attorney General's Office is now naming a new special prosecutor in the case.
Shane Young, the Commonwealth's Attorney from Hardin County says he was appointed to the case last week, but removed himself because of a potential conflict of interest.
Then, it would be up to a grand jury to file possible criminal charges against the officers.
Woosley could not be reached for comment.
