LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Statements have been released from the two healthcare giants in regards to a legal battle.
Dr. David Dunn with University Hospital released a statement saying, "We are very pleased that Norton has finally accepted our many invitations to meet. We certainly think this is a positive step in the process. We hope that, during the meeting, we can address the core business issues, try to move forward with securing a long-term agreement, and leave this dispute in the past."
Brian Rublein with Norton Healthcare sent us its statement saying, "Both organizations have agreed that there be a meeting early next week to discuss the legal issues which Norton believes must be resolved before productive discussions can occur regarding an update to the existing 2008 academic affiliation agreement. We have already asked the Court for an expedited court date for the action we filed last Thursday."
Norton Healthcare is suing the university, intending to establish that U of L does not have the legal right to evict Norton from Kosair Children's Hospital.
That's after U of L claimed Norton is violating an agreement by possibly teaming up with the University of Kentucky.
