LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was killed Tuesday after police say fell off the moped he was driving while trying to avoid a crash.
It happened just before 2 p.m. at Rangeland Road and Daleray Drive, not far from Poplar Level Road.
Police say a woman driving a Camry was on Daleray when she turned onto Rangeland Road -- right into the path of the moped.
The man on the moped died at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.
"We're still trying to see if any type of contact was made between the two vehicles," said LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley. "We do know that the (moped) driver did lay the bike down and apparently was attempting to avoid colliding with the Toyota Camry, but whether or not they actually made contact we're still trying to determine."
Police say the man on the moped was not wearing a helmet.
