Two arrested for allegedly stealing anatomy textbooks

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say two women have been arrested after they stole several anatomy textbooks.

According to arrest reports, it happened at the Barnes & Noble college bookstore on S. Floyd St., near E. Walnut St., on Friday afternoon.

Police say 24-year-old Jenna Heck of Georgetown, Ky., admitted to taking $667 worth of textbooks from the store and placing them in the restroom, where her accomplice, 23-year-old Samantha M. Curci of Bardstown, Ky., put them in her backpack.

The titles of the books that were stolen were "Articulation and Phonological Impairments" ($154.60), "Anatomy & Physiology" ($250), two copies of "Color Atlas of Anatomy" ($90) and "Dental Hygiene Theory & Practice ($82.45).

Curci was charged with theft by unlawful taking and Heck is charged with complicity to theft by unlawful taking.
