CHICAGO, Sept. 23, 2013/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- City leaders and senior municipal staff from over 20 cities across the country will gather in Chicago this week to share ideas and best practices for improving small business services in their cities.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will welcome city leaders and encourage continued innovation within the public sector to support small businesses and promote economic development. He will highlight several of Chicago's efforts to cut red tape, lower costs for business owners, and cultivate community partners that can help small businesses get started and grow.
Workshops throughout the two-day event will facilitate discussions on emerging industries such as food trucks and urban agriculture, helping small businesses access capital, using data to support small businesses, and spurring entrepreneurship, among others.
The National League of Cities is dedicated to helping city leaders build better communities. NLC is a resource and advocate for 19,000 cities, towns and villages, representing more than 218 million Americans.
