Smoketown USA hosts 6th Annual Redneck Hootenanny

Posted: Updated:

One of Louisville's most unique locally-owned restaurants - Smoketown USA BBQ - is hosting its annual Redneck Hootenanny festival the last Saturday in September.

The event goes from noon until 7p.m. Saturday, September 28.

· Chili cook-off with judging beginning at 3:30 p.m.

· Moon Pie eating contest at 4:30 p.m.

· Best Dressed Redneck contest at 6 p.m.

The Hootenanny also includes live music, face painting and a bounce house for children and yard sale booths for anyone who wants to sell crap….er…gently-used items.

The restaurant's traditional BBQ and sides - including green beans, potato salad and slaw - will be served throughout the day.

Smoketown USA is at the corner of Oak and Logan Streets in the Germantown neighborhood.

It's known as the redneck restaurant where everything's for sale (literally!) including the tables and chairs and items hanging on the wall. Just name the price.
