POLICE: Caretaker accused of abusing blind woman

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A caretaker was arrested after being accused of abusing a woman who had no way of defending herself.

According to an arrest report, Ashley Shipley was the roommate and live in caretaker for a 74-year-old woman with dementia.

Police say Shipley punched the woman in the face and body multiple times after she got upset the woman spilled laundry detergent. The woman suffered several injuries, according to an arrest report, and had to be taken to the hospital.

Police say Shipley also threatened to shoot the victim once she got out of jail.

Shipley was arrested Tuesday, and charged with abuse of an adult and terroristic threatening.
