LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Humana has been fined after an investigation found the company sent misleading letters about the Affordable Care Act.
The letters were sent in August to about 6500 people. In the letters policy holders were notified they had 30 days to renew their plans for 2014 or they would have to choose a more expensive option that complies with the Health Care Act.
Insurance regulators said the letters didn't make it clear that people could wait, and compare plans that will be offered on the state's health insurance exchanges.
The Kentucky Department of Insurance fined the Louisville based company over $65,000 for the incident.
