LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Indiana Department of Correction donated $8,419 to a memorial fund established for a fallen police K-9.
The donation to the Kilo Memorial Fund will be used to support the Indiana State Police K-9's.
Both staff members and offenders helped the IDOC raise the funds through prison programs and fundraising events.
Kilo was killed in the line of duty, June 24, during a search for an armed suspect in Sellersburg, Ind. Since then, the Indiana State Police Alliance have raised funds in his honor to support the K-9 program.
