LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- My state needs Obamacare now: that's Ky. Gov. Steve Beshear's stance in his opinion piece in The New York Times today.

In the column, Beshear points out that Kentucky ranks among the worst in the nation in almost every major health category.

He says 640,000 uninsured people in Kentucky have to decide between medicine and food, and they live knowing that bankruptcy is just one bad diagnosis away.

Beshear says the state needs big solutions and the Affordable Care Act is one of them.

He ends it with a message to Obamacare opponents, saying, "Get out of the way so I can help my people...here in Kentucky, we cannot afford to waste another day or another life."
