LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The percentage of Kentucky teens using prescription drugs has dropped dramatically over the past four years. State officials say it's because of intensified education about the dangers of prescription drug abuse.
A new survey shows drops among sixth, eighth, tenth, and twelfth graders since 2004.
Nine percent of high school seniors reported using prescription drugs in 2012, down from more than 15% in 2008.
While alcohol tobacco, oxycontin, cocaine, and hard drug usage went down between 2008 and 2012, marijuana use remained the same or ticked up slightly.
