LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens of U of L fans lined up eager to get an autographed copy of Rick Pitino's new book, "One-Day Contract."
The newly inducted Hall of Fame coach held a book signing session at the Barnes and Noble bookstore in the Paddock Shops today.
In the book, written with our own Eric Crawford, Pitino discusses his successes, accomplishments and the run up to this year's National Championship.
He also admits to offering to step down, in the thick of the 2009 extortion scandal involving Karen Sypher, something Athletic Director Tom Jurich would not let happen.
Fans we said they're thrilled by Pitino's new book.
"With the Cards winning the national championship, his Hall of Fame victory, I think this is just a testimony to who he is. I'm excited to be here today and getting his autograph," said Cards fan, Mary Hebel.
"We were at the national championship down in Atlanta it's just been a terrific year. We just want to celebrate it more. And frankly, we just want to read this book and see if there are some tips that we could apply to our lives," said Bob Strong, Cards fan.
Pitino has said the book covers a number of themes: including overcoming adversity, the power of focus, the importance of humility and prospering through pressure.
