LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Heavy rainfall in Jefferson County has led to a flash flood warning, in effect until 8:45 a.m.

As of midnight, 5.9 inches of rainfall was measured for October 5th at the Louisville International Airport, shattering a record set in 1910.

The flash flood warning was sent out just after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Flooding was also reported on U.S. 60 between Shelbyville Road and Blankenbaker Parkway.

As of 5 a.m. 82 people have been evacuated from their flooded homes. Some of those people are seeking shelter at Atherton High School and Greater Faith Missionary Church
