LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Time's up! An unclaimed $1 million Powerball ticket sold in Jeffersonville, Ind., in April expired at 5 p.m. Monday, the Hoosier Lottery said.
The ticket was sold at a Circle K on Hamburg Pike. The winning numbers were 1-36-40-52-53, and the Powerball number was 20; the ticket was sold on April 10.
"It is rare,
but not unheard of, that a prize of such magnitude goes unclaimed.
Unclaimed prizes are absorbed back into the lottery to reduce future prize
expenses, and that increases the amount of money that goes back to the state." a lottery news release said.
