LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officers ask for help in finding a man they believed tried to abduct a child in Crothersville, Ind., Tuesday afternoon.

The Jackson Co. Sheriff's Dept. says the attempted abduction occurred in the 300 block of South Armstrong Street (U.S. 31) about 3:30 p.m.

Officers seek the white male driver of a late model, red, Ford pickup truck.  They say it has a red, hard bed cover.  Police believe the man offered a ride to a girl, who refused the ride and walked to her nearby home.

The truck then headed south toward the Scott County line.  The driver is described as a white man with short, light colored hair.

Anyone with information should call the Jackson County, Ind., Sheriff's Dept. at (812) 358-2141.
