LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a pedestrian died after she was struck by an SUV in Louisville's east end.
The accident occurred just after 9 p.m. The woman, in her 30s, was struck by a red Jeep Cherokee as she crossed from south to north across Westport Road at Langdon Drive, police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner's office had not released her name as of late Wednesday.
Metro police traffic investigators were taking pictures and measurements at the scene as of 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Drivers in the area were urged to detour until they could finish their work.
It was too early to tell if police would pursue charges against the driver of the Jeep, Mitchell said. Police did not identify that driver.
