Eight arrested in La Grange after organized crime investigation

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Eight people have been arrested in La Grange, Ky., several on conspiracy to commit murder charges, as part of an investigation into drug trafficking and gang activity.  All eight people were arrested at a residence on West Madison Street where La Grange police officers executed a search warrant.

22-year-old Thomas Wenz of Shelbyville was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, and one counts of criminal gang recruitment, engaging in organized crime, unlawful transaction with a minor, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Roger Wilson and Keaton Lee, both 19 years old and La Grange residents, and 18-year-old Casey Endicott of Shelbyville were charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, and one count of engaging in organized crime, unlawful transaction with a minor, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police citations state that the four planned to murder and dispose of two bodies.

20-year-old Felix Myers, 22-year-old Donnie Lane, 18-year-old Brandon Davis, and 22-year-old Gabrielle Beach, all of La Grange, face charges of engaging in organized crime, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The citations state the eight people arrested were all involved in the Crip gang, and that there was cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside this apartment, as well as a 15-year-old.

Neighbors say, they've noticed more people inside recently.

"It's been very, very noisy....for the last 2 weeks," says neighbor Kimmie Perkins.

The family of Brandon Davis says they're shocked.

He recently moved out of his family's home when he turned 18.

"Said he had moved into that house just 2 weeks ago. Prior to that he was staying with people that we know are good people," his step-father told WDRB's Tamara Evans.

They never expected him to be part of this investigation. They say he had just returned to the apartment before police showed up.

"That has to be it. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time," his step-father says.

Neighbors tell us, Donnie Lane was the one renting the apartment with his fiancee, family and friends.

While these 8 people are now facing charges, the family of Brandon Davis is only hoping he's able to eventually get past this.

"Sometimes your friends aren't really your friends and he needs to learn that," says the step-father of Brandon Davis.

We did try to make contact with the other people living inside the La Grange home where eight people were arrested, but were not able to reach them.

The landlord says the tenants have been living there less than 6 months.
