LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It is a colorful sight along Shelbyville Road at the Oxmoor Shopping Center -- a quarter mile of bras lines the shopping center's parking lot.
It's to bring attention and raise money to fight breast cancer as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
People can drop off the bras daily through Saturday. For every bra collected, Ashcroft and Oak Jewelers will donate a dollar to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Last year, the first year of the campaign called Bras Across the Bluegrass, $3,000 was raised. Jonathan Shuford with the organization tells WDRB News, "We are almost up to 3,000 right now. So if we can get up to 3-4,000 bras by the time we shut it down on Saturday, I think that would be great."
When the campaign ends on Saturday, the bras will be donated to women's shelters in the region.
