LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD's horses are getting their digs spruced up. Bone Dry Waterproofing along with General Electric donated thousands of dollars for the horse arena at the Iroquois Park Riding Stables.
LMPD'S mounted patrol stables are being spruced up along with other areas of the park. More than $15,000 will go toward a new riding surface in the arena and new lumber, paint, and supplies for the paddock fence.
The park is used by the public, and hasn't been in the best shape. Police Chief Steve Conrad explains, "This arena has been here for many, many years but I can tell you that prior to the last few months it would not look as pretty as it does right now. We had people that would come to use the arena, and it just was not in the kind of shape that they were looking for."
GE is also supplying nearly 150 volunteers for a full day of work.
