LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two juveniles were arrested Monday morning after an incident involving a weapon at Valley High School.
The two juveniles, both of whom are males and are students, are charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school property. One of them is also charged with fleeing and evading police.
LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell would not say what type of weapon was involved, and would not confirm whether it was a firearm.
It all began after school security officials at Valley were alerted to reports that a student brought a weapon to school.
The student ran from the campus when confronted, leaving a bookbag behind. That student was eventually located in a nearby neighborhood. No threats were made to students or staff.
Valley High School was not placed on lockdown, according to JCPS. A letter will be going home with students to alert their parents of the situation.
