LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The site of Louisville's first Rotary Club and a hotel that is prominent in the city's history were honored Thursday morning.
The Kentucky Historical Society dedicated a marker at the Henry Watterson Hotel. The Rotary Club first met there in 1912, and gathered there every week for the next twelve years.
Creating the plaque was a project that took about six months to get together, as Rotary Past President Stuart Alexander explains: "We put together this plaque and thanks to the good work of all we managed to get it in concrete before the rain started."
The Louisville Rotary Club's mission is primarily service projects.
