LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say they've made an arrest after a suspect in a vehicle sped from a traffic stop, injuring three people.

It all began with an alleged carjacking in south Louisville.  Police say a Chevy Yukon had been stolen and an officer spotted it in a alleyway near 22nd and Chestnut.

"He was going to attempt to make a traffic stop," says LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley.  "And at that point, the Yukon fled westbound in the alley, and in this intersection here at 22nd Street it then t-boned a Honda Accord."

The driver of the Accord and two people inside the SUV, a man and a woman, were all taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say a third person inside the Yukon, 32-year-old Robert R. Moore, ran from the scene, but was captured a block away.  One witness who did not want to be identified told WDRB's Lawrence Smith what he saw:  "I saw the officer that was in this silver SUV running toward the white SUV that's turned over, with his weapon drawn, telling him, 'Stay in the car, stay in the car.' Meanwhile, there was already a runner that had taken off running."

LMPD's Public Integrity Unit was on the scene, but police are not calling the incident a chase.  Smiley explains, "My understanding is that the officer was going to make a traffic stop, and the Yukon immediately took off."

Moore was arrested and charged with three counts of wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and robbery.
