LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One is left dead after an accident in Scott County Sunday evening.
Around 5 p.m. the driver of a Hyundai crossed the median and went into the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near the 25 mile marker just outside of Scottsburg, Indiana.
When it crossed over, it collided with a Ford pick-up truck that was pulling a trailer and burst into flames.
The truck had three passengers. Good Samaritans were able to pull out two of the passengers, Andrew Godsave and his grandmother, 62-year-old Sandra Godsave.
The driver of the truck, 62-year-old Dennis Godsave could not be saved and died from the fire.
The driver of the Hyundai, 19-year-old Natalie Bomar and the grandmother were transported to University Hospital with serious injuries. Andrew Godsave, the other passenger of the truck was taken to Kosair who also sustained serious injuries.
Police are still investigating the accident and say it is unknown if seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash.
