LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you're planning on entering the Galt House's Gingerbread Contest, you'd better hurry -- there's less than a week left to enter.
Amateurs and professionals are eligible to enter their gingerbread creation for a chance to win $1,500 in cash prizes.
Entries must for this year's contest must be received by 5 p.m. on Oct. 28. Gingerbread houses must be delivered to the Galt House Hotel on either November 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or November 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The gingerbread houses will be on display from November 15, 2013 to January 1, 2014 for all guests of Christmas at the Galt House Hotel to see.

Amateur Adult Category (Ages 13 & Older): $300
Amateur Child Category (Ages 12 and under): $200

The Gingerbread Contest is part of Christmas at the Galt House Hotel, a 47-day holiday extravaganza in Louisville, Kentucky. The event features larger-than-life luminaries handcrafted by Chinese artisans in the KaLightoscope Attraction, the Snow Fairy Princess and her Castle, a Christmas Village, a Candy Cane Forest with some 100 animated characters and Mr. Sugar Pine the Talking Tree, as well as the Peppermint Express Kiddie Train Ride and a new character—Ernie the Engineer.
