LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- White Castle finds a new way to use a spatula -- as a shovel at a groundbreaking! Friday's ceremony was held to mark the building of a new restaurant in St. Matthews.
Work is underway for the location that will be across the street from Trinity High School. St. Matthews had a White Castle for dozens of years, but it closed in 2002.
Officials say there's been a lot of hype and excitement over this new location. Regional Director Shawna Jones explains, "It was available and had been recommended, and it was close to where we were to begin with. I remember serving them many times myself."
This White Castle will show off the restaurant's new design. It's expected to open in February, around Valentine's Day.
